What is threading used for?
Threading is a practice originating in Eastern lands such as Iran, India and Pakistan and is also very common in Arabic traditions. Threading is used to remove hair from areas you would not wish to shave such as the eyebrows, cheeks and forehead areas. The reason for using threading instead of shaving is due to the way hair grows when not pulled out by the root as it will grow back thicker and this is not something you would want to happen on the cheeks and forehead, not unless you wish to have your WHOLE face covered in hair!
Although threading is more of a mens hairdressing service it is also provided to women to remove hair on the face which again you would not wish to shave. In some countries threading is carried out on females as a sign they have reached adulthood and sometimes when they are about to get married.
In the Western World hairdressers provide threading to men and women but only in select hairdressers as not all will know how to provide the service.
